Based at REGAIN’s Castleford office, this role will involve the development and maintenance of key raw material supplier accounts in support of newly installed capacity at the West Yorkshire site.

Applicants for this position should be able to demonstrate a strong commercial background preferably in plastics raw material procurement and exhibit excellent customer facing communication skills.

Reporting directly to the Purchasing Director, this position will attract a salary commensurate with experience and proven ability.

Graham will be working alongside Technical Sales Director, Mark Roberts and his team developing and growing the commercial arm of REGAIN, providing additional customer support whilst actively strengthening our client base. Graham has worked within the polymer industry for over 20 years and brings with him a wealth of experience both technical and commercial.

As part of an international development programme co-funded by The Ministry of Establishment of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and the UK Government Department for International Development (DFID), the development programme involves the Civil Servants in identifying reform projects suitable for implementation within Bangladesh.

The ideas are initiated in the Civil Service Academy in Bangladesh and refined during a study visit to the UK hosted by the Centre for International Development and Training (CIDT) based at the University of Wolverhampton.

The intention is to provide the delegates with the space and stimulation to revise and enhance designated reform programmes (Super Project Implementation Plans, or SPIPS) that they will be implementing during the six months after they return to Bangladesh.

The additional capacity involves the purchase of a state-of-the-art twin screw extruder, to be installed at the Castleford plant in March 2012. The new line will increase extrusion capacity by 40% to over 45,000 Tonnes per annum.

To further support its growth and future plans, the business has also acquired Express Recycling & Plastics Ltd of Rainham, Essex, a recycler specialising in the separation and reprocessing of rigid end of life plastics. The increased geographic market spread this acquisition brings to REGAIN will greatly improve its ability to attract raw materials for both recycling plants. Express Recycling & Plastics Ltd has been renamed Regain Recycling & Plastics Ltd.

Katey will play a key role here at REGAIN with responsibility for profitability improvement, costings and sales ledger, in addition she will be instrumental in the production of the management accounts and forecasts.

The top of the range Tinius Olsen H10KT in conjunction with the Horizon software package produces reports to ISO compliant test methodology for a variety of mechanical tests including Tensile Strength, Tensile Modulus & Flexural Modulus, further ensuring we meet the stringent demands of customer specification.

During a short interview, Regain Purchasing Director, Bernard Chase, was asked by Morland Sanders to outline the difficulties faced by UK plastics reprocessors when supplied with poorly sorted raw material and to explain why plastic materials collected for recycling in the UK today remain all too often of indifferent quality.

With an estimated 13,000 visitors to the annual Recycling and Waste Management exhibition, REGAIN took this opportunity to cement relationships with existing customers and suppliers as well as generating many new contacts. This exhibition was the first opportunity for REGAIN Polymers to showcase its new identity, as well as its new website, thereby confirming its continuing role as a key and growing player in the recycling and waste industry.
